Gift Cards for Random Tasks - Swagbucks [Medium Effort]
[Currently Testing] No sure yet with this SSH.
How it works:
Swagbucks gives rewards for doing things which you can cash out for gift cards. The things can be surveys, cash back from shopping, receiving a free sample, creating an account, playing a game, etc. It looks like a prospect/lead generation tool for companies where they pay Swagbucks to then pay users to do things. There’s a dashboard of various tasks so you’ll have to dig through what you want to do.
Requirements:
Swagbucks account - create an account with my referral link. You get ~$3 if you use the referral. Non-referral link: Swagbucks.
Nice to have:
Willingness to sign up for a lot of things.
Some free time.
Multiple emails or alternate accounts.
Patience. Sometimes the features don’t “work”.
Protip: The comments section of the daily poll usually has a list of all the good activities for the day, other users are Good Samaritans and post them there.
Steps:
Create a Swagbucks account.
Find the tasks you want to do.
Profit.
Story so far:
12/14/2020: I’m starting to not like this. Here’s a few reasons why: Some of the rewards are just not worth your time and redeeming certain rewards can be buggy. For example you can watch 7.5 minutes worth of videos to get 1 SB (one cent). The daily poll is worth it because you answer one question, get one cent but we’re talking about $3.65 a year for that so it’s also not ideal. I also have a feeling if you’re using the Brave SSH you aren’t going to get paid due to some of the ad blocking built into the browser. I recently bought flowers and also tried doing an app install on mobile and Swagbucks doesn’t think I completely the offer - they think I visited the offer only but it’s not showing up in my pending SB. I will test Swagbucks on a different browser to verify. Last but not least I think you should either use Swagbucks OR Mistplay but not both. They have a few overlapping offers but Swagbucks favors the one time payout (don’t confuse this with instant payout, sometimes the payout is only after achieving a goal which could take time) while Mistplay favors the long-term player. Decide for yourself which person you are. The main reason I feel like you should use one or the other is having both of them together feels medium/high effort. I get a feeling of FOMO when I use one and think I should really check out the other as well, then it becomes work. I will use both for now to provide detailed updates however unless you really want to dabble in both using one is enough in my opinion. Of course this is mainly a point for regular usage - I still recommend having both in general.
12/11/2020: There’s a few times now where I’ve completed a survey or clicked a button to earn Swagbucks and it hasn’t worked. I’m still new to there’s a chance I’m not using it right but I figured I should add a note in nice to have for patience. If I do figure anything out I’ll of course update.
12/10/2020: Swagbucks is one of those places I can see someone getting really into it. I don’t mind the tasks but I’m not the biggest fan of some either. Sometimes they want you to try out an app or a game and it requires a lot of user sign up, I’m just not really into making new accounts for things just to get a few bucks. This is why I also said as a nice to have maybe having some extra accounts is a good idea but that can also exclude you from some things like shopping. They are pretty transparent with what the task will be and how long it will take though so that helps when you’re looking at what you might want to do. Some of the tasks can net a lot, like there’s some that are $40, but you’ll have to open a brokerage account and fund some money into it. I’ll quickly note they pay you in SB or Swagbucks which are about a penny each, so 100 SB is $1. You can redeem gift cards to all the big names from Amazon to Visa with your SB. However lots of times the gift cards are on sale, like 900 SB for a $10 card, so they are technically a tad more than a penny. I think the best usage of Swagbucks, especially during the holidays, is the cashback for shopping. If you’ve already got a system for shopping then maybe this isn’t for you, however for me I don’t mind checking out the shopping rewards first and using that to proceed to my shops. I have a feeling this could get in the way of other promo codes since lots of times retailers don’t let you stack but I’ll test this and update. The shopping rewards will be another kick back on top of the points I get from my credit card so I think that’s nice. I also don’t mind doing surveys or exploring a website, those are pretty quick and easy too. All in all these activities are pretty easy but it does take some time to look through the various tasks or check Swagbucks before I shop, hence the medium effort. The referral program also has a multi-level marketing type of aspect to it where the referrer gets 10% of the points the person referred makes, so I think there’s also an attempt at folks pushing others to get onboard. If you’ve got a large network this might be a good option for you as well, if you don’t feel free to use my referral link to make an account - wink. What I’ll probably do is lightly use Swagbucks here and there for a year and I’ll update throughout. I probably won’t use it unless I’m really bored, have some free time, or am shopping.
